Allez Mama plays music inspirated on the music of South-West Louisiana
and New Orleans. Their songs are mainly in Dutch and somtimes in French.
Since they have started in 1993, they´ve made 4 albums and produced several singles.
One of these singles, called ”Je liegt dat je barst“ (I know you are lying) became a hitsingle in Holland. They mixed some Cajun with Zydeco and added
some Tex-Mex in a ’Roux‘ and there it was.
Uptill now Allez Mama is seen on several big festivals in Holland and Belgium, playing support with bands like Steve Riley, Zydeco Force, Geno Delafose, Pierre le Rue and other famous (Dutch) bands like Louisiana Radio, The Scene, and Rowen Hèze.
”De Dubbele Kick“ (Double cluchin´) is the titel of their last CD.
Worldbeat Zydeco at it´s best. The reviews on this album are very good.
Allez Mama is an up-comming Dutch band that promotes Zydeco music to the mainstream audience.
Their frontman ’Laroux‘ (The mixer) harmonises Zydeco with Funk, Soul and Rap & Roll. Even some African and Celtic infleuences are heard. Breathless rhythms, scraping squeezers, funny lyrics and deviant guitars thats Allez Mama at it´s best.
”Allez Mama is an endearing band“ (Music magazine: Fret - juni 2001)
Allez Mama has made 4 Albums up to now.
The first one ”Hunkeren“ is an allround album with the hit ”Je liegt dat je barst“on it.
The second album called ”Zi Zo Zydeco“ (finaly zydeco) is more an album of a band focussing on the Zydeco within itself.
After ”Indiaan in de stad“ (Indian in the city) their third album, with the nearly hit ”"Doetsenut“ (Is she gonna do it), Allez Mama changed from recordcompany again, because they were still not happy with te way the companies work.
Allez Mama thinks it´s the best and next move the band had to make.
Casper Falke and (Live technision) Timo Beckman produced the latest album ”De Dubbele Kick“ at the Silvox studio in Bontebrug.
The new single ”Wereldbeat Zydeco“ is doing well at the moment.
So. . . . finaly Allez Mama is heard the way they like to be heard.
